Brown aluminium oxide is fused in an electrical furnace by high temperature. Its main raw materials are bauxite, anthracite. It dispalys brown. Its chemical composition contains Al2O3, a small amount of SiO2, TiO2, Fe2O3 and etc. The micro hardness is 1800 -2200 kg/mm2, The toughness is higher than silicon carbide. Abrasive articles which made of it are suitable for grinding metals of highten sile strength, such as steel, annealed malleable iron and hard high - class refractory products. The degree ofrefractory is up to 1850 C.
